Katie B's Bridal Portraits

I've been on pins and needles waiting to share Katie's session with you. She went and got hitched last night.. (what a wonderful wedding!)..so now I can show you her portraits.

We headed to Duke Gardens, which is really a diverse little place for a session.

We had trouble actually working that day because Katie was literally stopping traffic! What a lot of fun that was!

Wedding coming next week!

Fashion: Trash the Dress

Couple weeks ago John photographed Laura in a post-wedding trash-the-dress way. I was blown away!

I love a great moment...my favorite:

Looking like Robin Wright-Penn from Princess Bride:

reminding me of Tori Amos discography:

My other favorite...

And here's where I go crazy with post-processing someone else's images. dang, this is hawt:

...maybe I should just start out-sourcing everything to John. Good job, babe.

Shelley's somewhere in the Bahamas...

with her husband, Richard, so I guess I can show her bridal portraits! My favorites:

The session was at...some park in Greensboro, NC. The session was unfortunately short, there were issues with the place to change, a wardrobe malfunction, and...well...I can't remember anymore since it was last fall. But Shelley was so cool, and it shows. Thanks Shelley! More to come in a week or so. Have fun!

Lauren is married!

I am home from Lauren and Mike's fantabulously amazing I'm not kidding totally rockin' wedding, and feel free to share Lauren's bridal portraits. Lauren is from our local town-- Sanford, NC-- and had access to this cool home and gardens. ...which reminds me I need to send a thank you note to the home owner so I can go back! My faves:

...this is the one chosen to display at the reception...

I was so happy that Lauren's Mom, Patti, LOVED this image. I know it's not a bridal portrait-- it's a moment. Can't take that desire to shoot emotion out of me, I guess.

...and now to chimp the images from today!

Kristine's bridals...

Kristine needed something I rarely do: studio portraits.

Something dramatic for me, as my photographer friend says...

Such a beautiful woman!

...and just to show off a bit, here's the original of the first image.

I'm still playing catch up...I've already photographed Kristine's wedding!
Next up...some engagement pictures. Tomorrow? Check back!

Angela's Bridals

This is my personal favorite from a session full of solid traditional poses. Even though this fantabulously (that's trademarked by me, ehem) gorgeous woman drove 4 hours or so just to get here, she was beautiful as well as easy to work with.

I know, I'm hiding the dress. I feel so guilty posting before the wedding...look for more of her and her fiance in May!

Thanks Ms. Presley! ;) Looking forward to capturing and making non-traditional, creative and emotive wedding images for you!

Alyson's Bridals

Alyson assures me no one knows where to find her bridal portraits, so it's safe to post them before the wedding. If you are her fiance or family...better just pretend you didn't find them!

Alyson was definitely sweet and easy going...but I didn't see a trace of shy in front of my lens. Here are just a few of my fave's:

I am so excited for her April wedding!

Oh..just a note to those who are searching for photographers. Every month I hear reports of people falsely claiming to have made photographs that they lifted from other photographers websites. I recommend not trusting anyone to just email pictures-- your best bet is to see their work in a large format up close and personal. If you can't meet, ask for referrals from previous clients, and view a few galleries of entire weddings. Above all, go with your instincts.
