Wyatt should be pleased...

Sara was beautiful, easy going, and just in general cool on her wedding day-- so we did a complimentary boudoir session in place of their unused engagement session.

Sara was a bit timid, but we got some hot shots. What do you think?

Thanks for letting me share these, Sara!

hola!

Where have I been? Well, this is my slow season. *yawn*
I've been catching up on albums! and exercising! and we finally moved the office downstairs (come and see that desk I was braggin' on anytime) and playing pool with my honey and our two cuties! If you're wondering where your Christmas card is, we didn't do them. :( I was too busy before Christmas to take personal photos and I gained an extra *cough*5*cough pounds during, so now there's no way I am camera ready. ;-)

Oh! And I'm finally updating the Lacey and John site with my 2007 favorites! WOW! What a year. I am actually feeling overwhelmed going through all the wonderful, amazing, fantabulous (sub)tm weddings I did...and it's making me reminisce! Please don't be a stranger, drop me a note when you have free time. I'd love to hear from you.

Incidentally, if I told you about our new custom website..ya, that didn't turn out so well for us. And I'm now $1500 poorer with nothing to show for it but a painful memory. Next year, next year. Instead of a brand new site I'm updating the look and feel and music so check that out. Best of all, I jumped right back on the horse anyway and sent a deposit to a logo designer. I am stoked...ok, and wary, but he sounded wary too, so we should be very nice to eachother. Plus he's local, so all else fails I am driving to his office. Just kidding....kind of.

If you didn't get me your album choices (and there are, like, 8 couples!! ouch!) please please please do it now while I have time to do it promptly. Nothing like having March of 2007 stuff (you know who you are) hanging over my head while I'm editing the March 08 weddings...

I'll catch up with you all soon with some personal pictures. I literally cannot WAIT for wedding season to start up for 2008! March 8th can't come soon enough...
Peace,

Kathryn + Alan

The beautiful, tasteful wedding of Kathryn and Alan.
From the Carolina Inn to the gorgeously detailed older church to the art museum... from the elegant dress of the bride to the always popular hydrangeas to the flower petal escape... everything was quite classic.
Which is why I really struggled with posting the next image. In my opinion, though, it's just too cute to not share.

but that's the only getting ready image I'm posting. Here, the ladies share a prayer for Kathryn's happiness and future:

and then hide her from the grooms eyes:

The guests are ready for a wedding! by Sherri Winstead for Lacey and John Photography:

The brides mom came for the bridesmaids, leaving us alone. Kathryn was so contemplative and maybe a bit nervous. But the light was gorgeous...

and outside...such an old world feel to this one.

Father of the bride gives a kiss of encouragement:

What a packed house! I found myself in the balcony without much room! But God is good and look at this pretty view!

first kiss! Sherri Winstead for Lacey and John Photography.

I love this.

When in a museum, you should eat truffles. Aren't these monogrammed versions way cute?

the next two images are amusing to me. No, it's nothing really different in the way of wedding photography... but what I love is the difference in the reaction of our respective sexes.

Alan is way excited:

Congratulations! Many, many more pictures to come in your online gallery over the next couple days. Thanks for allowing us to capture so many wonderful moments.

This was a great way to end our 2007! And now... what will I do for the next 2 months? Guess I'll be catching up on those albums... now's the time to send me your favorites for your books!

Special thanks to Sherri Winstead of Sherri Winstead Photography, a wonderful friend. I hope this is just the first of many times we work together. Your portrait work is still my very favorite.
Many blessings!
