Gadwill's....

What a crazy summer and early fall we've had! Of course, the cruise was great, but that was kind of an oasis in the middle of a sea of crazy family happenings. A great blessing that I'm sure the Lord knew we were going to need! Sometimes I'm amazed-- I seem to not book a date and wonder why? and then guess what? That date-- something happens and if I HAD a wedding I would have been a little stumped. Yet another reason to be prayerful over our business!

Miya and Hunter, our children, are only 13 months apart in age. This year I thought we'd try one BIG shared party.

The party ended abruptly just a bit after a ride like this one. Someone fell off! OUCH. :(

Our children have taken turns being very ill lately. First Miya was in the hospital for pneumonia and breathing problems. And then last week, Hunt had some mysterious illness as well.. he ran a fever for four days...and he just so happens to sleepwalk and hallucinate when he has a fever so let me tell you that was an awful 4 days!

The Poe House is so ornate! It's a nice little estate for a wedding.
You can see more of Kristine in her bridal post a few posts ago, but I think she's looking rather hawt here. ;)

boys brought their own bats... they look ready to kick some booty!

Kristine's mum used 4 separate 5x7's and had them matted and framed.. Love it!

When Grace first explained the rustic nature of their wedding locations, I was a little worried. So dark! So dreary! And then I saw the church online, and was psyched by the vintage design.

This particular wedding was rare; my husband, John, could not work with me. What a happy blessing to have Mark Turner from Atlanta travel to work as our second shooter. Thanks Mark!

I can't resist including this one image from Mark. Such beautiful light!

Beautiful! Congratulations to you both.

So... I don't know if the feeling is mutual, but I really, really like these two. A little background: I met them when they were not officially engaged. But they were obviously in love. With a capital Totally. Excited about each other, surprised to have found something they weren't looking for. It was tangible.
So...a few weeks ago I posed their e-pics. They had a little secret they shared with me that day...but let's start the pictures first.

ok, I'm very excited about this. Is it just me, or is this cool:

No one told me to stand in one place for this one. yippee!

ok..so immediately following the wedding the champagne comes out and toasts go around.
Here, James says something like "So...we have a little secret. We already got married..." I think several people stopped breathing for a second.

..James asked for leg shots. haha!

A family member... so cute! haha!

And that's it. We took so many portraits. On August 6th. Anyone remember that day? Haaawwwwttttt.

They still look totally cool, huh? Congrats!

Tyler and Robert are very much into their traditions. Their wedding date? A Tuesday in May because that's the anniversary of their couplehood. They met at Wake Forrest University in Winston-Salem...so that's where they chose to do their engagement photos. Makes perfect sense to me! Especially once I saw the campus. Very cool.
Recently t.p.'ed:

ok, I was excited someone wanted to go in a library.

Looking forward to your wedding....

Kristine's bridals...

Kristine needed something I rarely do: studio portraits.

Something dramatic for me, as my photographer friend says...

Such a beautiful woman!

...and just to show off a bit, here's the original of the first image.

I'm still playing catch up...I've already photographed Kristine's wedding!
Next up...some engagement pictures. Tomorrow? Check back!
