FlowerGirl

...one of my personal projects right now. I am trying to move beyond environmental portraits in my home-decorating. My husband, now that man has the best taste in flowers. And he's great at getting me new ones regularly, I'm almost never without fresh flowers in the house. :)

The latest was the best. A quirky arrangement of salmon-pink Gladiolas bursting amid the spikey petals of these...dahlias? Not sure, but how I adore them. The glads died off about a week ago, these white huge lovelies are still reigning supreme. And making great subjects.

This first I like because of the warm tone, and the shy tilt of the head.

This is the kind of softness overall I want... LOVE it. I'm figuring big-- 60" on the largest side-- on a canvas gallery wrap. Mmmm...

Cherry Red '66

OK, not a 66. A 92. I am so psyched! There is a lipstick red Mazda miata with it's top down in my garage. Ooooh! This beats, in my opinion, the Mercedes we were scoping. Yeehaw! :) :) :)

I wish I were driving her right now. I've never had a convertible before! So. Very. Much. Fun. !!!!

Pictures will be forthcoming....

What's up?

Sorry for the lack of posts. I know, I know, I'm a very bad blogger.

Some clients who met me in person may have seen this image. It's of my son, taken about 3 years ago. It was very recently used for a huge event honoring "Military Hero's" near Hill AFB, in Utah. I'm proud to say that my image, combined with the talents of this graphic designer helped raise $100,000 for the local military community there. My son's picture was on banners, signs, coins (military folks know I mean those coins you can throw down so you don't have to buy the round) and the one thing I just can't get over:

I am told it will be a monument of sorts at the community center there.

I wish I could have attended... but instead I am here, doing lots of personal projects lately, happy to have welcomed home my husband (he was gone ALL summer, people, it was just so terrible) and now the kids are back in school. How do you like that-- he goes away for training to other states while I am stuck with two bored children day in and day out? OK, it wasn't that bad. They are doing soccer now...expect me to post some fun action shots...as soon as they get over their fear of the ball!

And I am getting back to work! Next weekend I will be dragging myself to the beach (sense the sarcasm?) to photograph Jim and Joann's Nags' Head wedding. :) And I got to meet the couple one evening for a quick bite in a nasty diner in...Tappahanock? Joann is so gorgeous...can't wait to see her on her wedding day!
