Understanding Composition

Rules? We don't need no rules! Visit this link: http://theonlinephotographer.blogspot.com/2006/06/great-photographers-on-internet.html.

It is seriously funny, if you are in the know. If you're not, and prefer me to center all your work and focus across the entire picture in all pictures, and use flash constantly, well, you're on the wrong website.

gorgeous color!

Click above for a 5 hour day in less than 2 minutes!

My husband, John, worked with me as a second photographer. My best friend, Mary, watched our kiddos so we could do this together, and I'm so thankful to her. She is really the best, I wish a Mary on everyone. She's all heart, and quite beautiful. :)

Oh, about the pictures! Jessica and Charles let me know they wanted fun fun fun! and so I tried hard to think fun, but it was so darned beautiful at their locations it was hard not to just take advantage of the landscape. First, The Yellow House, as you can see from the pics is the perfect spot for a quiet ceremony. There's a little pond out back complete with bridges and flowers.... Loved it!

Great family, as well. I hope to work with them again some time! :)
Ack!
June 9, 2006, I worked with my husband and MAN did we come away with a lot of pictures. I guess that's my excuse, I'm going on 2 weeks and one day since the wedding. All those that keep checking... I'm just uploading to the server now, so by the end of the day, the bride and groom will have the password to their gallery. I'll post a link to the slideshow asap-- thanks for your patience. :)

Gorgeous Holly and her tall teddy bear Brandon. Despite the distance, dragging my family down to Florida for a mini vaca wasn't too hard, go figure.

Jon and Amanda
27 May 2006
Chimney Rock, NC

I put my foot in my mouth asap this time. I'd never met this couple irl, and upon showing up to the wedding precisely on time (I like to be early, it drives me nuts to be even close to show time!) I scoped the crowd for someone obviously in-the-know. There was this gorgeous woman I took to be a bridesmaid, as she had a wedding-day hair-do, and was stringing lights and tying bows. As I began to say hello, Jon, the groom recognized me as a photographer (female; check. cameras; check. looking for friendly faces; check.) and introduced himself. He also introduced the bridesmaid...and when I asked where the bride was, well... Maybe I should pay more attention to names...the woman I assumed to be a bridesmaid because she was not getting ready... was the bride!

The gracious couple didn't bat an eye. You can see my slideshow here. Notice she was NOT wearing her dress at the time of my little faux pas.

The very bridal-looking bride!!! and her handsome man. What a view! Her dress was vintage.

Skipped the dancing, went right to playing together.

I always love details. Cake topper with bouquet providing color.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be working on two more weddings, entertaining my on-summer-vacation-kids, redesigning everafterphotography.net, shooting some doctors, shooting some engagements, working on albums, and visiting Charleston, SC. Looks to be a full summer! :)

"a full mix of styles"

I survived my 20-some hour day (10 of which were on the road, see a few posts down) to bring you these. And a full mix of styles means just that... give us everything under the sun. Well, thankfully I had a fun, nice group of people to work with, plus a beautiful bride and an excellent location. There really are a lot of great images, if I weren't so busy I would have done up a slideshow for everyone.

We are out in the boonies.
This luna moth? On my front porch.

This arachnid? Same place.

This...fox? My back yard. Less than 50ft from the house.

There have also been hobo spiders and cockroaches. I have not taken pictures of those. I am not keen to this wildlife. There are whiperwills that wail at night and crows that wake me rudely. Deer, opossums, ants. Ticks! I am so not outdoorsy, and this ain't helping. Blech.
