...one of my personal projects right now. I am trying to move beyond environmental portraits in my home-decorating. My husband, now that man has the best taste in flowers. And he's great at getting me new ones regularly, I'm almost never without fresh flowers in the house. :)
The latest was the best. A quirky arrangement of salmon-pink Gladiolas bursting amid the spikey petals of these...dahlias? Not sure, but how I adore them. The glads died off about a week ago, these white huge lovelies are still reigning supreme. And making great subjects.

This first I like because of the warm tone, and the shy tilt of the head.

This is the kind of softness overall I want... LOVE it. I'm figuring big-- 60" on the largest side-- on a canvas gallery wrap. Mmmm...

Hey woman! Just thought I'd say Hi. These are nice. What's gallery wrap? Maybe you can do some for me? Tell me over coffee soon.
Later!

Lacey, that last flower shot is gorgeous. Almost cloud like! And if I didn't know it was a flower, I'd guess something under a microscope. Love the macro!

Kristin,
Yay, a comment from Kristin! :)
Still haven't printed any of those flowers...I am such a slacker with personal work. I got as far as uploading it for a canvas with WHCC, and then never ordered. Did I mention what I want this for? I want to do a bit of mixed media with it...bright white paint to highlight the edges of the flowers...
When I have time.
i agree with kristin... that last flower shot is awesome. that needs to be really big!
That's a beautiful project. I love the depth of field and delicate tonal range you are getting from these. Lowers are so difficult to capture in a fresh way and I think you've done it here.
Are you using daylight only for your lighting? There are some very cool things you can do with long exposures and painting with light.
Have an Awesome Day++
